Welcome Home Rockets!!

Sunday, March 6th, 2011

Today started the beginning of the end of the deployment. We have been waiting it seems like forever for March to be here and it IS FINALLY HERE. With it being here that means that babies are going to start being born right and left. As a matter of fact one was born yesterday. So yay Congratulations to Nicole and Matt! Welcome to the world baby Cale!

The Air Force was nice enough to let those few soon to be dads(and already dads) with wives due in March come home first before the rest of the guys. Pretty much the only good thing the military has done good for us in a while. But thats a different story. They flew into the airport and let us be at the gate when the plane arrived. So go team USO for allowing that to be able to happen. Terminal 2 at RDU was the place to be today if you needed a good heart warming cry and everyone was thrilled that they were home the patriot guard was even there! Makes me quite excited for the weeks to come when everyone is home!20110305-DSC_5747

Chifferobe: A Jazz Age Cabaret

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Saturday after my baby shower I headed over to Durham, NC to get my dance on. For the past few months there have been dances and live bands at Cuban Revolution put on by a production company called Chifferobe. This week George Knott Square Trio performed. There was all kinda of awesome performances as well performed by Kristen Minsky & Kate Collins of The Cuban Revolution TropiGals. Dandy Wellington flew down from NY and he was an awesome MC. I feel like I should mention the real reason I was there as well. It was The Carolina Fascinators grand debut!! They did an awesome job and I was glad I got to see them from the start because I have a feeling they may be going places. Oh well, I feel like I just did a lot of name dropping so lets get to my favorite photos. Sound like a plan?

The Happiest Place on Earth | Lindy Focus!

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Every year something magical happens right after Christmas. Its a dance event called Lindy Focus and it is pretty amazing. Some of the best dancers from all over join in on the fun and there are 5 days of pretty much NON STOP DANCING. :) This was my third year attending and my first as one of the “official photographers.” I worked alongside with the quite talented Bobby Bonsey. I think we make a pretty good team and I really enjoyed working with him. :)

Ok, now on to the photo goodies. OH and also, if there is a link above the photo thats the link to the dance that was being photographed, so go check it out. Dave Braverman did an awesome job with the videos. :)

Lets start with Mike Roberts and Laura Glaess. They are two of the most attractive dancers Ive ever seen in my life. When they dance they show so much emotion. I could watch them all day. Want to watch them? Go here

How could I have picked favorites without Sharon Davis being in them. Here she is getting her dance on.DSC_5953

Here is one of my favorites from the entire event. I love that Terrace. He was one of the first dancers I was ever ‘in awe over.’ I first saw him 4 years ago at a dance event and he was awesome. Since then we’ve become friends and im far from nervous to dance with him. Its a pretty good feeling. Im sure thats why this is one of my favorites because were friends and I got some sweet flare and everyone is so happy. It makes for a fantastic shot.. Plus I mean.. not everyone can dance blindfolded.20101231-DSC_0892 copy20101231-DSC_0919 copy20101231-DSC_0925 copy

Its rare someone captures a good photo of me dancing with my own camera. So, thanks to whoever picked my camera up.20101231-DSC_0930 copy

and last but not least,20110101-DSC_2540 copyI love how Neil finally decides to grab my camera to take photos of me taking my equipment down.. instead of helping out. Ahhh men.

Anyway, arent you sad you werent there? It was seriously an awesome time. I seemed to have a difficult time this year. There were a TON of folks Id never met and typically I try and get photos of everyone. But this year.. there were just too many people to get everyone. Im glad I had Bobby there because that way we could ‘share the load.’ So, if youre not in any of the photographs I apologize. Come and see me at ATLX8. ;)

Jaya, Michael and Sosh know how to throw a party. Thank you all so much for having me along as a photographer this year, I loved doing it. :) You three are thebomb.com

Lots of folks have emailed me about purchasing prints. Well, GO HERE.
