I love when I get to see babies grow up. It is definitely one of my favorite things about this job.

I think the first time I met Cassie she was a little over a year old. Here was the first time I saw her:

And of course little Ben the first time I saw him back in February…

Their mom had some awesome plans for this photo session which mainly involved his adorable older sister Cassie. They had a tea party on their front lawn. I think Cassie definitely ate her share in lemon cookies.

A little over a week ago I got to spend some time with a cute couple and their pups. Lucy is their new baby and they wanted to document her puppyness. :)

Charlie was definitely a ham for the camera.

Okay, I totally went cheeseball on the blog title because their last name IS Love. I met the Love’s last year when I had a newborn session with little Drake. He is now a year and a half and probably one of the smartest kids I’ve ever met. He is spitting out super long words like they are nothing and is so into everything. Its awesome! The last time I saw him he looked like this:20100111-Drake (91)-32you might remember him being the cabbage patch baby :) A lot of you really liked the concept. Drake didnt.20100111-Drake (393)-140

We took a few photos at their house and then headed to a friends farm down the road.20110717-DSC_278020110717-DSC_288720110717-DSC_296720110717-DSC_299520110717-DSC_3001

Their nanny, Sarah joined us for a few shots as well.20110717-DSC_302020110717-DSC_303520110717-DSC_307120110717-DSC_307820110717-DSC_310020110717-DSC_314520110717-DSC_316220110717-DSC_320120110717-DSC_320920110717-DSC_322020110717-DSC_324820110717-DSC_325120110717-DSC_329320110717-DSC_3303I am sad to say animals were harmed in the making of these photos…20110717-DSC_330820110717-DSC_330520110717-DSC_331120110717-DSC_342520110717-DSC_344520110717-DSC_345320110717-DSC_3458Those last two are my favorites! I love his expression!

a family so sweet bees were hanging all around them.

Autumn has been at all my major life events over the past 4 months. And surprisingly enough there have been a lot of them. My husband coming home from war, me being el preggo, giving birth and then she was there to help document Jack’s life out of the hospital. Neil and I are so fortunate to have had her there. She has given us something completely priceless. So, I FINALLY got to repay her.. well with what I could. Shes not pregnant or giving birth but I could give her a family session. I think we tried to get together for a month and it would either rain or her little one just wasn’t feeling it. Well, last week it finally happened and not 10 minutes in and we had B O T H been stung by bees.

after they were “done eating Lana” .. I said something like ” I couldn’t have eaten her better myself.” They thought it was pretty funny.  ;)20110531-DSC_577320110531-DSC_5792

She kept saying their were bees around.. who knew a few minutes later we’d be stung. I should have surrendered my camera to the bees- cause that one bee REALLY wanted it.20110531-DSC_580620110531-DSC_581320110531-DSC_5817

My goodness!20110531-DSC_611420110531-DSC_6125

This little family is quite near and dear to my heart for lots of various reasons I wont get into. But one of them is that they were my first “official session ever.” I met up with the girls when they were around 3 months old (that was the earliest I could get to them due to them being so tiny) and boy was I new to photography! I learned a lot that session- one being that I need to always insist to get at least a few family shots of everyone even if its just their faces.20090209-DSC_0614

a year and some change later I met up with them again, they had grown quite a bit but still as cute as ever.miniToday they started a new chapter in their lives and moved back home to Minnesota- like seriously they are there right now! But before they left we made sure to get in one more session. Im glad it happened. We had scheduled something the weekend before I popped out Jack and it rained then I had the kid and you know how that goes. So when I happened to find this SUPER SWEET field of flowers I suggested we try again. And what do you know the day we planned for- it rained. BAH to the weather thats what I have to say. On another note did you know that in NC it is actually illegal to go traipsing through these fields of flowers and its also illegal to pick them. Well, we have some fugitives on our hands so I’m glad you ladies got out of the state while you could. ;)20110509-DSC_2794May these super cute Barbie sunglasses rest in peace. We lost them in the field.20110509-DSC_278120110509-DSC_2837

I brought out two of my suitcases cause it seemed fitting that they were moving and all. Plus.. I love me some bright colored props!20110509-DSC_3112They dragged these silly suitcases all over that field waving “bye” the whole time!20110509-DSC_3121still not sure where they thought they were off to…20110509-DSC_313620110509-DSC_3140

for some reason my usual favorite family photo is ALWAYS families walking away- holding hands. I love it!20110509-DSC_3161

these next two were for mom. She said, “well we might as well get a photo of all the things that arent moving!” I agree it was much easier to photograph these two photos. Toddlers sure do know how to not pay attention and how to move all around making my job really hard. They are fun, but definitely a work out.20110509-DSC_323820110509-DSC_3241then the girls went into melt down mode.20110509-DSC_3235and I think this was the best photo of the two little ones I got. Still adorable even though they are miserable.20110509-DSC_3250

Angie- I hope you know how much Neil and I love you and the girls. You’ll always have a place in our hearts AND our homes. So if you ever need anything dont hesitate to ask.

Hawaii 2012! Lets do this. :)
