Last week I had the privilege to hang out with another lovely military family who’s husband is deploying soon. Since I have moved here Amanda and Chloe have become our friends. Our meaning myself and Jack :) So it was nice to meet the man I keep hearing about from Amanda though I am sad he’s leaving soon. Chloe is a happy 11 month old and Amanda and Michael celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary the day before we took these photos. Despite him leaving I think 5 years is worth a photo session. Im glad they did it and that they chose me to document such a great occasion.olympia family photography

Despite his efforts at giving me “manly, I’m in the Army” faces I did get a few smiles.jblm pre deployment sessionolympia family photographyPriest Point Park - Olympia, Waolympia childrens photographyPriest Point Park Family photospriest point park olympiapriest point park family sessionfamily photography olympia waolympia family photographyolympia family photographyand I have to end on a funny one. i love this face chloe is making. If the C family gets 15 comments on this blog post they’ll receive a free 11×14 print from me! Two things about Katrina and Rob that you need to know.

1) They are adorable.

2) They really love each other.

Rob was part of the EOD unit that deployed from Fort Lewis late last week. So I hope these photos make your time go a little faster Katrina. It is always so hard to schedule pre deployment photos because who knows when they will actually leave! I was glad we were able to meet up before he left. The day we choose was quite an interesting one though. All week it had been kinda rainy but then not so I was hesitant to do the session in general as I was going to be wearing Jack on my back. But, dramatic skies are better than gray ones so we went on with it. The first part was amazing. It was so bright and there were actual rainbows! I let them change and that’s when it got really fun. It poured! Eventually the weather got better but it was right towards the end of our session and we were all pretty soaked. My friend Sasha (who happens to be a military spouse and a fantastic photographer) said this when she saw the previews on facebook. “I love it though it almost signifies what we all go through as military families things are always changing from one minute to the next and we definitely WEATHER the storms.” And I couldn’t agree more so I wanted to include it. Next month makes 5 years married for these two. This is also his third deployment. That is a LOT in 5 years. I think these photos were a great way to celebrate your anniversary together too Katrina.

Also is these two can get 15 comments I will gift them an 11×14 print of their choice :) So comment away!

Julie and Cody are high school sweethearts and are both from Washington. Which I think is pretty rare to be stationed somewhere where you’re actually from. So it will be nice for Julie to have family nearby while he is deployed. Especially since she is going to have a baby! That’s right! She’s 16 weeks pregnant in these photos and should be finding out what she’s having soon. That also means this wont be the last time she makes a star appearance on the blog either.I like to try and get some of just the husband. Cause they usually hate it which means there are no good photos of them in uniform.JBLM photography sessionmilitary pre deployment Fort Lewis Family photographygender revealTacoma family photgraphytacoma family photographyI have a shot like this of Neil and I and I love it.Oh! Also, if Julie and Cody can get 15 (legit) comments on this blog they’ll be gifted a free 11×14 print of their favorite photo. So tell them what you love!

I feel like I have known Sarah and her family forever. This was my third session with them and her family is just so adorable and fun. I love them. This was their last session back in …August?

Oh, and funny while I was taking photos for their session Sarah remembered she was wearing yellow stripes in our last session as well. :)

Sarah, at least Ben and Cassie are making the same face even if its not a smile.

tell us how you really feel.. ;)

Sarah needed an updated head shot and my goodness she is gorgeous!

Oh little Sophia! My how she has grown. The last time I saw her she was just a few days old. She sure has grown so fast (like they all do.) but she’d still adorable and my goodness those eyes are CRAZY blue just like her mamas!
