Melody and Andrew are such a fun couple and are quite famous in my old town of Pine Level, North Carolina. When I first met them we were stopped at least 3 times by someone they knew1 Now that I have gotten to know them a bit more I know why everyone likes them too. Cause they are awesome and fun. So that’s exactly how their wedding was. They got married at a cute little church in Fremont, NC the Fremont Missionary Baptist Church. Melody really enjoys church architecture and this church was just screaming her name.

I love her dress swaying in the wind. Thanks to her Uncle Randy for being on standby for me in case the dress took a drop. Luckily it stayed up!

They walked together to the Imperial March from Star Wars… right? It was that one right Andrew? Either way, it was the bomb.

Tacoma Newborn Photographer | Erin & Brandon + a Baby Bump!

Erin and Brandon are so sweet and I couldnt be happier for them having a baby. I met up with them a few weeks ago and Erin was 36 weeks. She’s now more pregnant than I was when I had little Jack. They got pregnant only two weeks after I shot their wedding in October! So if you follow the blog a lot you might recognize them. Little Sophia is expected to make her entrance into the world at the beginning of August. Though they think it would be funny if she actually went into labor tomorrow exactly 9 months since they were wed. We met up at The Leaning Tree for their session. Their wedding reception was held there but we did all of the formals at the ceremony site so I thought it may be nice to do some photos there. It was a beautiful but hot day. Erin was a trooper in the heat.. well actually we were all troopers even Jack tagged along on this one ;)Yay you two! I cant wait to hear the news of Sophia’s birth!

the G ladies | goldsboro family photographer

This little family is quite near and dear to my heart for lots of various reasons I wont get into. But one of them is that they were my first “official session ever.” I met up with the girls when they were around 3 months old (that was the earliest I could get to them due to them being so tiny) and boy was I new to photography! I learned a lot that session- one being that I need to always insist to get at least a few family shots of everyone even if its just their faces.

a year and some change later I met up with them again, they had grown quite a bit but still as cute as ever.Today they started a new chapter in their lives and moved back home to Minnesota- like seriously they are there right now! But before they left we made sure to get in one more session. Im glad it happened. We had scheduled something the weekend before I popped out Jack and it rained then I had the kid and you know how that goes. So when I happened to find this SUPER SWEET field of flowers I suggested we try again. And what do you know the day we planned for- it rained. BAH to the weather thats what I have to say. On another note did you know that in NC it is actually illegal to go traipsing through these fields of flowers and its also illegal to pick them. Well, we have some fugitives on our hands so I’m glad you ladies got out of the state while you could. ;)May these super cute Barbie sunglasses rest in peace. We lost them in the field.

I brought out two of my suitcases cause it seemed fitting that they were moving and all. Plus.. I love me some bright colored props!They dragged these silly suitcases all over that field waving “bye” the whole time!still not sure where they thought they were off to…

for some reason my usual favorite family photo is ALWAYS families walking away- holding hands. I love it!

these next two were for mom. She said, “well we might as well get a photo of all the things that arent moving!” I agree it was much easier to photograph these two photos. Toddlers sure do know how to not pay attention and how to move all around making my job really hard. They are fun, but definitely a work out.then the girls went into melt down mode.and I think this was the best photo of the two little ones I got. Still adorable even though they are miserable.

Angie- I hope you know how much Neil and I love you and the girls. You’ll always have a place in our hearts AND our homes. So if you ever need anything dont hesitate to ask.

Welcome Home Rockets | Part 2

Neils home! He got home VERY late Tuesday night. And I am so super glad he’s back. These first few photos are from that night. I tried not to have my camera out all night and instead try and enjoy the moment rather than capture it. Especially since I had friends Autumn of Reminiscing Moments Photography and Shallyse of Shadeleaf Studios there to document the event for me. Those two ladies are AWESOME and we are so glad they were there for us. Thank you both again!

This next one is my favorite from the whole night. Terry getting to see Barb’s baby belly for the first time in real life. So sweet. I am so excited for them!

The next day more folks came in. They came in a bit different, they were actually flying the F-15E’s back instead of taking a heavy back. Neil was supposed to fly a jet back and decided against it incase something happened and they got stuck somewhere. He didnt want to miss little Jack’s birth and I agreed but after taking these photos I’m a bit sad he didnt fly home in a jet. Oh well, there’s always next time. I followed my friend Charlotte around for her big reunion with her fiance Colin. They are due to get married this fall and now they can REALLY start the planning! If youre a local in Raleigh you may recognize her from the news. She is a news anchor for NBC in Raleigh.

Like me with my camera, its hard to break away from what you do. I loved that she was interviewing everyone.

Emily is due on the same day as me (May 8th!) and she got to see her husband today too!

This is one of the signs that was in the hallways. A few weeks ago we had a squadron decorating party and the kids got to have a little fun too. This was one of my favorite signs. I liked how some of the kids got all official too and some of the signs read “Welcome Home Brian!” vs. Welcome home daddy! So cute.

Chifferobe: A Jazz Age Cabaret

Saturday after my baby shower I headed over to Durham, NC to get my dance on. For the past few months there have been dances and live bands at Cuban Revolution put on by a production company called Chifferobe. This week George Knott Square Trio performed. There was all kinda of awesome performances as well performed by Kristen Minsky & Kate Collins of The Cuban Revolution TropiGals. Dandy Wellington flew down from NY and he was an awesome MC. I feel like I should mention the real reason I was there as well. It was The Carolina Fascinators grand debut!! They did an awesome job and I was glad I got to see them from the start because I have a feeling they may be going places. Oh well, I feel like I just did a lot of name dropping so lets get to my favorite photos. Sound like a plan?

Ooh!! I didnt mention Joei Reed up above but she was there featuring some of her awesome fascinators!! Check her Etsy out- she does some pretty awesome stuff.

Todd and Sarah are getting married in Bailey, NC this coming June. I met with them this weekend for a fun engagement session. We met up at a local antique store with a ton of pricey merchandise. Like seriously, the cheapest thing we saw was around $750ish. CRAZY. But if youre ever in the area you should definitely take a looksie loo, Boone’s Antiques.I dont know how all of these gorgeous brides with crazy awesome bling in their fingers keep finding me, but I love it!Oh I cant wait until their next engagement session in April and then their wedding in June at the Leaning Tree. Its going to be a good time.

The Happiest Place on Earth | Lindy Focus!

Every year something magical happens right after Christmas. Its a dance event called Lindy Focus and it is pretty amazing. Some of the best dancers from all over join in on the fun and there are 5 days of pretty much NON STOP DANCING. :) This was my third year attending and my first as one of the “official photographers.” I worked alongside with the quite talented Bobby Bonsey. I think we make a pretty good team and I really enjoyed working with him. :)

Ok, now on to the photo goodies. OH and also, if there is a link above the photo thats the link to the dance that was being photographed, so go check it out. Dave Braverman did an awesome job with the videos. :)

Lets start with Mike Roberts and Laura Glaess. They are two of the most attractive dancers Ive ever seen in my life. When they dance they show so much emotion. I could watch them all day. Want to watch them? Go here

How could I have picked favorites without Sharon Davis being in them. Here she is getting her dance on.

Here is one of my favorites from the entire event. I love that Terrace. He was one of the first dancers I was ever ‘in awe over.’ I first saw him 4 years ago at a dance event and he was awesome. Since then we’ve become friends and im far from nervous to dance with him. Its a pretty good feeling. Im sure thats why this is one of my favorites because were friends and I got some sweet flare and everyone is so happy. It makes for a fantastic shot.. Plus I mean.. not everyone can dance blindfolded.

Its rare someone captures a good photo of me dancing with my own camera. So, thanks to whoever picked my camera up.

There were a TON of folks Id never met and typically I try and get photos of everyone. But this year.. there were just too many people to get everyone. Im glad I had Bobby there because that way we could ‘share the load.’ So, if youre not in any of the photographs I apologize. Come and see me at ATLX8. ;)

Gabby and Will moved to Texas a few days after we took these photos. They wanted a fun session before they left and I was happy to oblige. We met up at their favorite book store, Pauper’s Books in Clayton( Which has become my favorite book store since then) first and then finished near Will’s families land here in Selma. It was a fun time. I hope you two enjoy Texas!
