One of my very good friends is getting married today! I am so excited for her and her fiance Roberto. They are an awesome couple and I wish them the absolute best. When I was in Pensacola in March I talked Hannah into getting into her wedding dress for some photos and we had a good time.20110331-DSC_825020110331-DSC_8258

Over the Christmas holidays I got a very excited call from my friend Randi. Tyler had just proposed and she was calling to tell everything the awesome news! I was of course SUPER excited for her even though I had only met Tyler once before when they first moved in. Over the last few months we planned out their engagement session and we figured we would do it when she came back home for my baby shower. About a week or two before the shower some photography friends of mine (Kaye Murphy and Jessi Field) told me they wanted to do a “shoot out” type event while I was in town and I was super excited for that too- until they told me the date. It was the same and only date I could shoot Randi and Tyler’s engagement session! So, I asked if they needed models still and they did and “VOILA!” Problem solved AND they got some awesome shots out of the deal. Shoot outs are always interesting and usually you get some pretty amazing stuff from them. I happen to love all of these photos because she (and I guess THEY) is my friend. Oh and Randi, you should be happy I decided not to throw in some awesome photos of us back in the day. We LOOKED awesome as 9th graders… just sayin.20110327-DSC_7355

Isnt she so pretty?20110327-DSC_733420110327-DSC_737220110327-DSC_737820110327-DSC_7389

While everyone else was taking photos of Randi I grabbed a few shots of Tyler. He is dashing isnt he?20110327-DSC_741620110327-DSC_7470 copy20110327-DSC_748220110327-DSC_7446

They also brought their kiddos Tokyo and Omelette out for some photos too!20110327-DSC_753020110327-DSC_755420110327-DSC_7558

Jessi let me borrow her Tilt Shift lens and I think I fell in love. Ive rented it for a few upcoming sessions I have and Im excited to do more fun things with it! I think the rest of these photos were taken with it, it took a while to get the focus down.20110327-DSC_759720110327-DSC_7605

I wish I had been able to get both eyes in focus. Oh well. She’s still gorgeous!20110327-DSC_760820110327-DSC_762620110327-DSC_763620110327-DSC_764620110327-DSC_765820110327-DSC_767020110327-DSC_770020110327-DSC_770820110327-DSC_7722

Its pretty rare that I know the groom WAY before I knew the bride but this is the case. I met Josh back in 2006 when I first started learning how to lindy hop. He also danced and was hoping to join the Marines. I guess after Id known him a bit he did become a Marine and he left for a while to do some school. He got a Pilot slot and luckily got to come back for a while. April started showing up to dances a little there after and she became part of the group.  Im not quite sure how he never met April when I lived there, but they didnt meet until I had already moved up to NC. For a few years now we have celebrated our birthdays all together since there are.. 6ish of us with February/January birthdays and this year they went in a dinner cruise. Sadly enough Neil and I couldnt make it down to celebrate our birthdays too. Anyway, Josh was invited and April and he made a love connection and the rest is history. You may remember their engagement photos I took when I was in California earlier this fall.

So, last summer April graduated from PA school.. and Josh got his wings. At some point there was a party at Navarre beach to celebrate one of the occasions and there was a cake to be cut. I dont remember who said it but someone volunteered Josh to cut the cake as “he was going to need some practice.” Im not sure why that memory is stuck in my head.. and for being stuck in there why its not got more pieces I remember but now that they are married it makes me laugh.-6168-6176123

Berto proposed to Hannah while I was making my drive down to Pensacola. Which I was happy about and sad that I missed. Although all of our friends did. Hannah is one of my good friends and I miss her a lot. Hannah works at a pre school and they were having an end of the year luau and he brought in a coconut and her doggy Bebe. Put her ring on a lei and the lei on Bebe. It sounds oh so cute! She said yes, of course. She told me at dinner later that night and I of course HAD to have a session with them before I left. She always wanted to have her wedding on the beach but with the oil she’s not sure how the beaches will be next June. So we decided to have some photos at the beach and the others at our friend Leslie’s grannies field. We did the beach photos at sunrise and it was still super humid and hot out. It kept fogging up me lens!
