My goodness. These photos have been a long time coming. Alex and I went to high school together. She’s one of my best friends. When I take photos of friends, I like to include a few photos as as blast from the past.

This next photo always cracked me up. Alex is the tallest and I was the shortest. Shes in the salmon dress and I’m in the yellow if you couldn’t spot us.

Dressed up for Prom… at the mall.

The coolest art table folks there are.

Still my favorite photo of Kenny and myself (and Pete too!)

This might be their first photo together..

TOGA!

at my “white trash” themed going away party when I moved to NC. Alex seriously had the best outfit ever.

So through a mutual friend I met Kenny. I think it was at Swing right? Anyway, Kenny wasn’t down with that but he was down for hanging out at McGuire’s afterward. We became friends and we hung out all the time. He even took me out for my 21st and was there when I had my first alcoholic beverages. Soon after we met I introduced him to Alex and of course they hit it off. Made it official right around her 21st 5 months later. Boom. You can just call me matchmaker! So glad its worked out for these two. I seriously cant imagine these two with anyone else. About a year ago now Kenny called me up to talk about rings and I had no clue but I told him I would ask Alex’s opinion (obviously without her knowing I was talking to him) She sent me her thoughts on a ring and then I waited. I knew I had to wait til she had graduated from PA school. August came and went. WHERE WAS THAT RING KENNY!? Well, that’s what I was thinking anyway. Then I got the text a few days before Christmas and I was so excited! I’m still excited. Yay for Kenny and Alex! That mutual friend who introduced Kenny to me was getting married in California and they were both attending so it really seemed to be the best time for some REAL engagement photos of them. Back in 2010 they let me practice on them. We opted for sunrise instead of sunset at Balboa Park in San Diego. The day was beautiful and it was SO worth not having to fight crowds or heat.Seattle Wedding photographerseattle wedding photographywedding photographers in seattlewa wedding photographerWhoa! meet the jeffersons | a mount baker wedding

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Laura and Tyler got married in one of the most gorgeous locations I have shot at. It was at a little spot called Wandering Waters up near Mount Baker. Their whole day was fun and unique. Their wedding day was perfect too, not too hot not too cold. It didn’t rain and it was sunny AND overcast at times. Just a normal manic depressive pacific northwest day. I shot this wedding alongside Gini of Visions of Romance. I knew it was going to be a good day when the day started out with beers (from a mason jar!)  and 2 kegs. Everyone was so chill chill and hilarious. It was seriously an awesome day all around.mason jar rustic wedding detailsThey opted for a first look and I just love when couples do that. It really frees up so much time and look at all these sweet images of them.first look wedding photographywedding at mount bakerfun wedding partyunique program for weddinglittle ring bearermarried at mount bakerbride in all her glorymacro ring shots

Matt and Ali are a terrific couple. I feel like I have got to know them quite well over the past few months. Their wedding was just as fantastic as they are. Though.. I’m not too sure about there friends. I’m a bit concerned that I was the only one willing to even TRY at Thriller besides the newlyweds. The rainy day didn’t even hinder the fun. I think I was more worried about the rain than Ali was. :) The rain decided to stop right before their ceremony at The BelleFont Plantation House started. The Bellefont Plantation House in Washington, NC was an awesome spot to have a wedding (well, other than the road washing out.)  Ali is a very detail oriented lady and this wedding was a perfect reflection of that.

Gee, I am terrible at writing and you’re really here to see the photos aren’t you? Well scroll down already and stop reading this!

The favors were honeypots that were handmade by the bridesmaids and myself. Ali
bought the honeypot jars from fillmorecontainer.com in bulk. The fabric Ali collected from
yard sales and flea markets and the twine was already in my craft box. The honey was
from Morehead City, NC, Matt’s family’s hometown. Two missionaries from his church
head up a honey ministry where troubled adults harvest the honey and all the proceeds
go to international missions. Ali bought labels for the jars from onlinelabels.com for about
3 dollars and took them to FedEx to have our names and date printed on them.

Each place setting had a different plate. Almost. Ali collected over 130 different plates,
from seven different countries, and they had 160 guests.

DIY wedding centerpieces featuring thrifted glass bottles and wildflowersThe centerpieces came from a 100 year old walnut tree in Matt’s family’s yard. A
big branch came down after Hurricane Irene. His dad cut the branch into different
pieces, Matt sanded them, and I painted them with polyurethane. We didn’t want them
completely level and smooth because we wanted to leave them as natural as possible. Ali | Bridals! | Olympia Wedding Photographer

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

I have been looking forward to last Thursday for a very long time. She is just such a wonderful person. One of those people you really want to be around. I got to spend ALL day long with her and we had an awesome time. We met up in Greensboro to do her boudoir session and her bridals followed afterward in a local park. I love how Ali was totally up for anything from the classic to the quirky.Olympia Wedding PhotographerBride carrying Pin Bouquet

Paul and Rebecca are lindy hoppers.

I love lindy hoppers.

I met Rebecca when she lived here in North Carolina. She moved to Seattle a little while after she and Paul started dating and she has been deeply missed in the dance community on the East coast. She announced her engagement and I was pretty excited when she inquired with me about her wedding photography. Unfortunately I wont be living in the area (yet) during her wedding which just happens to be THIS Saturday! Whoops! They have changed their date since they inquired. Its now October 15th! Yay!!!!!!

However, I happened to have a free day last week when we were in the Tacoma area house hunting. So we got together and took some engagement photos. They live like 10 minutes from Pikes Place Market (I am so jealous!) and wanted to do photos there. I dont think any of us thought about it being a holiday weekend and the market was crazy packed. I dont think it helped that Bumpershoot was going on at Seattle Center either. We still had some fun though. :)Pikes Place couple
